Utilization of Kartini Reactor


Training of the reactor supervisor operator

Kartini Reactor is undergoing a training and will take a qualification or qualification exam to obtain a work permit (SIB) operator-supervisor at BAPETEN.

      


Reactor Physics Practicum

Kartini reactor is also a means to follow the reactor physics or related to the utilization of Kartini reactor. As a means of practicing Reactor routinely serve the Nuclear Technology School (STTN) BATAN and University for reactor physics. In addition, it has also served a practicum in the form of Nuclear School activities that we held in cooperation with several universities. Some of our Nuclear School activities are:

Dissemination of Nuclear Science and Technology

One other benefit of the Kartini Reactor is to be a means of dissemination of nuclear science. This can be done with visits to Reactor Kartini every year on average there are 1500 people from students, students and general who visit to see directly Kartini Reactor.


Utilization of Kartini Reactor For Research

In Reactor Kartini there are several research facilities that can be utilized by researchers both from Batan and from outside Batan for research.

Some of the research at Kartini Reactor are:

  • Neutron Radiography
  • SAMOP (Subcritical Assembly for Molly-99 Production)
  • BNCT (Boron Neutron Capture Theraphy)
  • PGNAA (Prompt Gamma Neutron Activation Analisys)
  • Research the instrumentation system and reactor control
  • Research on cooling systems and reactor support systems

The Kartini Reactor Utilization for In Vitro / In Vivo Test with BNCT Method on Radial Beamport Reactor

     

     

The neutron and gold foil (Au) collimators are mounted to perform neutron flux measurements in the Radial aperture collimator. Continued installation of paraffin shielding beam in front of Beamport Radial for testing facility in vitro and in vivo BNCT method.
